In case you wonder why power point doesn’t save the slide’s background color along with the picture when you select “Save As Picture…” in context menu, then try out the File >> Save As…
In File >> Save As… dialog you have the option to save the current slide as PNG/BMP/GIF/ etc.. Change the opition in Save as type: shown below
Then Select Current Slide Only button to export only the current slide, you can also export all slide using Every Slide option
That would give you a slide with background color as below. Wish you a happy and prosperous year :-)
